In the
year 2005 Jose Jesus Franco had an idea of getting together with a group of
friends to form a non-profit organization with the purpose of helping the less
fortunate people, especially the children and elderly of this town where he lived
almost all his life, Filandia Quindia, Colombia South America. He got in touch
with his friends Luis Ovidio Florez, Fernando Arcila, Jair Zapata, Guillermo
Urea, Socorro Murillo, Argemiro Aguirre and his daughter Lorena Arango.
Everyone agreed and this is how this non-profit The United for Filandia
Foundation, Inc. got started.
